In 2026, the United States will commemorate its Semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
EMDD’s IN250 project team needs you to help us create a space where Ball State Students can learn about Indiana history, share their own stories, and ultimately, see that they are not alone in this time riddled with division. We want to hear your stories and contribute your voice to the greater conversation happening across Ball State’s campus, Indiana, and the nation.
The digital Cardinal Quilt will showcase your written stories, recipes, poetry, art pieces, videos, music, and photos in a multimedia landscape inspired by the many squares stitched together to form a quilt. What do you want people to remember about this time?
You may choose to submit your story anonymously. No information that can be linked back to you is collected here, even by signing in through BSU’s sign-on system. Please consider this carefully, however. Claiming your story as your own adds value and connection to it. If you are unconcerned about the contents of your story, we would love to know you through it.
If you’re not sure what to submit, but you still want to contribute, try the AI chat below, which will give you suggestions or prompts based on your interests and experiences.
You may request to have your submission removed from public view or deleted from the archive by contacting us through the About page.
